Electric cars are no longer a future concept or something seen only in major cities. In recent years, the number of electric cars in Estonia has grown rapidly and, according to forecasts, this growth is expected to continue. More and more people are turning to electric cars for practical reasons – quiet driving, lower running costs and easier maintenance.

If we were to choose a keyword that would describe Enefit’s public charging service in 2025, it would be growth. The amount of energy charged, the number of chargers and the ease of use and reliability of the service all increased. The community, technological capabilities and our courage to set ever greater goals also grew.

In recent months, several electric car owners using CHAdeMO connectors have approached us. Their concerns centre on the future: will CHAdeMO charging disappear entirely from Estonia? Is it still worth keeping these vehicles? And if charging is no longer possible, what options will remain?

Imagine a situation where the charger recognises your car the moment you connect the charging cable, and charging starts automatically – with no app, card or PIN code required. Sounds like the future? In fact, it’s the present – now available in Enefit’s public charging network.

The number of electric vehicles in Estonia is growing rapidly, but many apartment associations are faced with the question: how to provide residents with a convenient, affordable and future-proof charging solution?

Ugandi Resto, operating in the heart of Otepää, has for years offered its guests a balanced experience of flavours and relaxation – with Nordic precision and the life-affirming lightness of the Mediterranean. Now, this philosophy of hospitality is enriched by one more important nuance: the possibility to charge electric cars.

We are pleased to announce that, starting from 9 April, users of our public charging service will have access to the updated Enefit Volt app. We have listened to customer feedback and worked to make the charging process faster and the app even more convenient to use.

Enefit Volt, Estonia’s largest provider of electric vehicle charging services, has successfully secured four million euros from the sixth call of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) to expand its network of ultra-rapid chargers in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland.
